Girls On Bikes and The Banditz Bicycle Club celebrates the honour and courage of the 1976 youth by cycling through the streets of historic and resilient streets of Soweto.
The beginner-friendly ride starts and ends at Thesis Lifestyle, which has parking, before riders later enjoy delicious braai'd meat from Meet Meat next door. As cycling takes energy, it is vital that riders eat something beforehand, and that they have small snacks or electrolytes to keep energy up along the way.
The ride does not accept walk-ins, and bikes and helmets are prepared based on bookings. If the event is marked as sold out, then there are no more bikes left to hire out. Riders are welcome to bring along their own bikes.
Girls On Bikes is a community-driven movement that empowers girls and women through cycling. It creates safe, inclusive spaces for riders of all levels to learn, grow in confidence, build community, and experience freedom on two wheels.
