The Field Berry Farm: Fun Berry-picking, Opening Times & Costs

The Field Berry Farm is a raspberry farm in Johannesburg South that offers fruit-picking experiences for all ages. Their Raspberry Festival is open to the public every January. The fruit farm also offers food stalls, a bicycle track and an outdoor play space for kids, and live local music performances from time to time.

Pick your own raspberries at the farm

Nothing tastes better than berries picked fresh in the height of summer with your own hands. This small orchard comes alive with thousands of shrubs for you to pick delicious and ripe raspberries. Picked berries are weighed and priced at R160/kg.

The Field Berry Farm also offers educational school tours for children to pick raspberries, learn all about growing berries, and a play space to unwind. School tours are open to groups of up to 100 and run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Find out more here.

Need to know before you go

Cost: Adults R60pp, Pensioners & Kids (aged 2-11) R50pp. Book online. Tickets must be booked online via their website to avoid long queues at the venue – the farm does not accept walk-ins. Select your date online, and you’ll receive an email confirmation. The entrance fee will be paid when you arrive at the venue

Due to the unpredictable nature of farming, the farm cannot guarantee the amount of berries available on any given day. For the best experience, arrive early as picking is available on a first come, first serve basis.

Food and drink at The Field Berry Farm

Tuck into delicious food and drinks made with raspberry produce from the harvest. The farm stall sells raspberry jam, craft beer, and frozen yoghurt made with real berries. Shop frozen berries during the off-season and by appointment.

There are also a few food vendors serving preggo and boerewors rolls, chicken burgers, and Asian street foods such as fried rice, Chicken Chow Mein, stir-fry, dumplings, spring rolls and more. Halaal-friendly food is available. The food stalls close at 3pm and no pets and picnics are on offer at the venue.
