DITCH THE BINGE-WATCHING MARATHON FOR THE LATEST IN LOCAL ARTS & CULTURE
For the What’s on in Joburg team, no date night is complete without catching the latest theatre, opera, or live gig before or after a romantic dinner. That’s still possible for us and other lovers of the arts with the National Arts Festival usually hosted annually in Grahamstown. Instead, the 2020 edition is going virtual, making it possible for you to enjoy and support some of our thriving arts and culture community from the comfort of your home.
Although the 11-day online festival is over, tickets can still be bought to view most of the show-stopping live and pre-recorded productions, short films, virtual art exhibitions, jam sessions, interactive events, webinars and more, from the South African and international art scene.

This year’s dark horses were Bru & Boegie: The Movie, South Africa’s first full-length 2D animation movie, and Anton Krueger’s brave foray into digital arts with the live Zoom show The Voice in Your Head uncovering an understanding of mindfulness.
