Large On The Lawn is bringing an unforgettable day of love, music, and connection to Marks Park, Emmarentia on Sunday, 16 February 2025. Musical acts Hollow Coves, Amistat, Matthew Mole, Desmond and the Tutus, and more will take the stage, setting the vibe for an unforgettable Valentine’s weekend. Here’s what you need to know.

Large On The Lawn presents Hollow Coves and Amistat

Taking to the festival stage are two incredible acts hailing from across the pond: internationally acclaimed indie-folk duo Hollow Coves from Australia and the German-born soulful twin brothers of Amistat.

Hollow Coves bring their organic, acoustic-driven sound to South Africa as part of their ‘Nothing to Lose Tour’. The album that inspired the tour has gained global recognition for its introspective lyricism and serene melodies, with hits like ‘Coastline’ and ‘Wanderlust’ amassing over half a billion streams worldwide.

Twin brothers Josef and Jan Prasil, better known as Amistat, bring their heartfelt storytelling and breathtaking harmonies that evoke comparisons to Simon & Garfunkel, to Large On The Lawn. Their brand-new single, ‘Loveblood’, a collaboration with South African favourite Jeremy Loops, showcases their ability to blend raw emotion with uplifting soundscapes.

South African acts bring heart and energy to the stage

Local performers for Large on the Lawn include some of South Africa’s most beloved artists. Singer-songwriter Matthew Mole brings his infectious energy and heartfelt lyrics to the festival.

Desmond and The Tutus bring their signature mix of indie-rock, playful lyrics, and groovy beats that have made them a household name in the South African music scene. The indie rock powerhouse known as Shortstraw will also take the stage with their infectious hooks, punchy beats, and singalong anthems like ‘Couch Potato’ and ‘Keanu Reeves’.

Finally, there’s Pixie Whip, a multi-talented singer, songwriter, and producer from Cape Town, who is set to enchant festivalgoers with her soulful melodies and dreamy soundscapes.
