Ocean Basket Serves a Fresh Seasonal Menu for the Summer 2024

Ocean Basket shares its refreshed summer menu just in time for the season break. Get a taste of tantalizing Mediterranean-inspired dishes, grilled seafood and bold seasonal flavours served the Ocean Basket way.

What’s new on Ocean Basket’s summer menu?

In addition to their seafood staples, Ocean Basket has added a few new small plates, fish, and prawn dishes, with some new sides too. Chief among these changes is the Chimichurri royals dish which features 10 prawns grilled the OB Way and dressed with chimichurri.

Also new is the salmon ceviche small plate dish featuring raw chopped salmon dressed with a citrus vinaigrette, served on an avo crema with tostadas. The crispy panko fish is bound to be a summer favourite with a flaky white fish fillet, panko crumbed and fried, served with a creamy lemon sauce. For a fishy feast, dig your teeth into the new whole Cape Sea Bream with chunky Med’ salsa.

New sides and combos

Ocean Basket’s salad menu just got even tastier with the addition of a new crown prince prawn salad with couscous, panko prawns, celery, toasted almond flakes, dried peach, coronation dressing, as well as a salt and pepper squid salad with fried premium salt and pepper calamari, veggie ribbons, cherry tomatoes, sweet soy dressing.

New sides include zucchini and sweet potato fries, lemon and herb couscous salad, and pickled cucumber salad. There are also new fish, calamari and prawn burgers and a few sushi platters. The new summer menu is now available at their Menlyn restaurant and across their other locations in Johannesburg and the rest of the country.
