Unique panoramic views of the entire Central and Northern Drakensberg Mountain Peaks provide some of the most spectacular views of the Drakensberg Mountains in South Africa.

Cottages are equipped with kitchens and kitchenettes, open plan and fully electrified. Log fireplaces can be found in each cottage with wood provided at a small fee. A bed-and-breakfast option is available or alternatively, half-board is available, however, a notice of the catered option is required in advance. All meals are delivered with a smile to your cottage, try this option and be surprised by our chef’s style of country fare.

Accommodation halfway between Johannesburg and Durban and an approximately three-hour drive brings visitors to this best-kept secret in the Drakensberg.

Hiking Trails with various degrees of difficulty to choose from are offered on-site and in the neighbouring park called the Royal Natal National Park, proclaimed a UNESCO “World Heritage Site”, just 16kms away. Royal Natal National Park offers some of the most scenic Drakensberg Hiking trails in South Africa and includes hikes such as the Gorge walk.

The highest waterfall in the World called the Tugela Falls is the main feature of the park. This spectacular waterfall can be viewed from the cottages, after rain over the escarpment, in the Summertime.

Horse-riding is offered, with a guide, a worthwhile option to take in our spectacular scenery, we offer the rider between one hour to three hours guided outride on the estate. Look out for the Eland and other antelope species. Seven km’s of river frontage and three dams, provide you with a variety of fly fishing challenges.

Mountain bike trails on-site provide a challenge for all serious and casual riders. Berghouse-Trail forms part of 150 kms of mountain bike routes in the area. Explore the Drakensberg-Experience-Route, mainly on the R74 from Giants-Castle in the Central-Drakensberg to Royal-Natal-National-Park in the Northern-Drakensberg, situated at the end of the Maloti-Route, a driving experience to be enjoyed with family and friends.
