Fashion, Fine Art and Fast Cars for Melrose Arch’s All-White Spring Weekend Events in Johannesburg

This year, Melrose Arch, in Johannesburg is celebrating the change of the new season with their third annual All-White Spring showcase running from 1 to 3 September 2023.

This special events programme promises a fabulous lineup of events headlined by the much-anticipated 2023 Handmade Contemporary Fair (HmC). A host of unique experiences are on the cards including fashion, fine cars, art, and live music.

Artisanal fashion, homeware and lifestyle, all made in Africa

Joburg’s leading design event is back in full force for another weekend of eye-opening craft and design made in Africa. The 17th edition of The Handmade Contemporary Fair will explore all the amazing ways design can help shape our future with over 100 artisans showcasing their diverse range of disciplines. This lifestyle event in Johannesburg is shaping up to be a whirlwind of creativity, culture, and sheer awesomeness that you won’t want to miss.

Luxury enthusiasts, both local and from all around the world, are in for a treat. You’ll get to mingle with the cream of the crop South African creators and major players from all across Africa joining the party too.

This year’s theme is all about preserving our cultural heritage while embracing the future. Keep an eye out for contemporary artist Lerato Motau, the fabulous Nahla Sleepwear crew, the trendy One of Each team, the culinary geniuses at Wakanda Food Incubator, and the unique vibes of Helon Melon all present at the show.

Designer Adele Dejak is bringing her fashion accessories game from Kenya while women’s lifestyle and fashion brand Mille Collines from Rwanda is making a grand debut at the event as well.

There’s also mouthwatering gourmet food, exquisite wines, and all sorts of beautiful, bespoke, and luxurious gift ideas to discover.

Cost: Day Passes – R120pp. Weekend Passes – R200pp. Book via Webtickets. Tickets will be available at the door for R130 per day, with a Partner Discount rate of R90 per day. Children under 18 enter FREE but must be accompanied by an adult

SculptX: The Melrose Gallery’s annual sculptural art fair

SculptX, the largest annual sculpture fair in South Africa opens on the 1st of September. This is the sixth edition of SculptX and offers attendees the unique opportunity to view a diverse collection of sculptures.

Fashioned from materials ranging from bronze, wood, glass, crystal and steel to bone, stone, resin, and other media, this vast number of sculptures encompasses figurative works, depicting the human body, the natural world, or the built environment as well as an array of abstract works body, the natural world, the built environment as well as an array of abstract works.

Cost: FREE entry

Live music and entertainment to set the mood

High up in the All-White Spring showcase at Melrose Arch is the live entertainment programme planned at the Square and Piazza, on Saturday and Sunday. So be sure to book a table at your favourite restaurant, sit back and relax while enjoying a great meal al fresco with family or friends. 

There are two new stunning restaurants at the Precinct. – Aduna Bistro at the African Pride Melrose Arch, Autograph Collection hotel on the Square, and La Parada serving effortless tapas fare and light meals on the High Street. Carry on socialising at the Kegtail bar on the Piazza and sip on your favourite cocktails while enjoying the music and spring sunshine.

Swoon at next-level luxury vehicles at the Supercar Sunday showcase

Daytona, well known for their annual Supercar Sunday event, is hosting the largest supercar gathering in South Africa to date. Dozens of the world’s most exclusive and exotic supercars will be gathered in one place for supercar owners and enthusiasts alike to enjoy and admire

Supercar Sunday 2023 is set to take place on Sunday 3 September at Melrose Ach. This year, supercar owners and enthusiasts can marvel at dozens of the most exclusive and desirable supercars all gathered in one place. From McLaren and Aston Martin to Ferrari and Lamborghini, expect a relaxed afternoon filled with luxury and like-minded individuals, all coming together to appreciate the finest motor vehicles on the African continent.

Melrose Arch’s All-White Spring will certainly be the place to see and be seen in Johannesburg. The dress code for all the events is all-white in cool, casual, elegant or over-the-top.
