In what is described as their most ambitious project yet, LEGO® South Africa shipped a detailed up-scaled LEGO® Technic Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance build from Singapore to Mzansi in 2025, marking the largest life-size LEGO build ever brought into South Africa.
From 28 February to 15 March 2026, LEGO® fans get another chance to see the build in all its detail at Sandton City. Here’s what you need to know.

The making of the LEGO® Technic Mercedes-AMG F1 car
The scaled-up LEGO® Technic Mercedes-AMG F1 W14 E Performance build took a team of expert builders eight hours to assemble and used a total of 192,937 LEGO bricks, resulting in a build weighing about 913 kilograms and measuring 5.1 metres in length and 2.2 metres in width.
The result is a breathtaking replica that mirrors the sleek aerodynamic lines, intricate details and striking presence of its real-world Mercedes-AMG counterpart, a true fusion of art, engineering and play.
