The Only Whisky Show returns for its eighth year, bringing over 100 premium whiskies to whisky connoisseurs and appreciators alike on 13 and 14 August 2026. Here’s what’s in store for this latest edition.

What’s on at The Only Whisky Show
This 2026, The Only Whisky Show is offering up to 1000 guests (500 on each night) the opportunity to taste up to 150 premium whiskies with fellow, like-minded South African whisky fans. Look forward to trying new expressions, exploring new flavours and meeting producers and brand ambassadors, all the while learning more about the wonderful world of whisky.

Join a masterclass
For those who want to go beyond just tastings, The Only Whisky Show has organised three major 75-minute masterclass experiences (limited to 25 people each) which can each be booked at an extra R200 per person:
SMWS masterclass by Olaf Meier
Chairman of the Scotch Malt Whisky Tasting Panel, Olaf Meier, makes his first visit to South Africa to offer masterclass guests a rare opportunity to taste selections from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society including a Speyside Single Malt, two Highland Single Malts and an Islay Single Malt.
When: Both days at 5pm
Irish Distillers masterclass by Kevin O’Gorman
Master distiller at Midleton Distillery, Kevin O’Gorman, shares some of his decades of knowledge and experience across distillation and maturation with whisky lovers. The whisky lineup for the masterclass includes a Midleton, Red Spot, Jameson, Redbreast and a Distillery Cask Sample.
When: Both days at 6.30pm
GlenAllachie masterclass by Ronan Currie
The GlenAllachie’s Assistant Blender and Sales Assistant, Ronan Currie, showcases the distillery’s sherry-led single malts and more. The whisky lineup for the masterclass features variously aged GlenAllachie samples, including one from their Sinteis Series and a Meikle Tòir Sherry.
When: Both days at 8pm
Note that tickets are not issued for masterclasses. Your name will be added to your masterclass list and you will have to present your email order confirmation at entry.

How to book
Each general ticket includes access to all exhibitor stands and their whisky selections, but for those who want a little extra, copper coupon drams are available, giving you the opportunity to taste rare, old, limited or otherwise unavailable whiskies.
Guests will receive three coupons each, to be exchanged for a measuring of any three of the limited whiskies.
