In a city as complex and dynamic as Johannesburg, meaningful conversations are often what shape community and change. Conversations with My Brother (CWMB) is one such vital meeting space—a powerful movement that is shifting perceptions around masculinity in South Africa.
This growing event series invites men from all walks of life to gather, speak openly, and listen deeply. Since its debut on 2 November 2024, Conversations With My Brother has carved out a unique space where men can explore what it truly means to navigate life as fathers, brothers, and sons.
The sessions are layered with humour, storytelling, and honest dialogue, creating a space of both healing and empowerment. Their upcoming edition on Saturday, 28 June promises even more: a thought-provoking panel, a comedy set to break the ice, a hearty braai, and the continued building of a brotherhood that lasts long after the final applause.

Conversations with My Brother uses dialogue as a tool for transformation
At its core, Conversations With My Brother is more than an event—it’s a social movement built on the idea that dialogue among men is a catalyst for growth and change. Each edition is structured around two powerful panel discussions: the first led by “Fathers” (men over 50), and the second by “Brothers” (aged 30 to 50). These panels offer wisdom, vulnerability, and insight into the evolving journey of manhood.
The event is hosted by Zuko Ndima, known for the Sibling Thrivalry podcast, and lightened by comedic relief from Mpumelelo Malumo. This month’s Open Fire theme includes a delicious braai meal as part of the ticket. Guests also enjoy music and entertainment—past events featured poetry and saxophone performances.
It’s a three-hour experience with time to connect, eat, and engage. With over 160 members in the growing CWMB community, men of all ages are encouraged to join the conversation—both at the event and beyond.
