What to look forward to
The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg (DSJ) Basar is the ultimate German experience, and this year marks the 115th annual celebration.
Visitors can expect a wide variety of beers on sale, live performances on stage, traditional German food and delicacies, a tea garden, activities for children of all ages, and so much more. The day is perfect for families, featuring tons of fun for all ages and cultivating a culture that strengthens school spirit and brings the local community closer.

What is the annual Schulbasar all about?
The Schulbasar or “school fair” is an annual lively event in celebration of German culture. The very first one was held in 1905 and has since grown to become a huge, vibrant school fundraising event inviting thousands to celebrate the occasion each year.
The Basar is known and celebrated for having something for everyone to enjoy, with drinks and entertainment for the adults and food and fun activities for the little ones.
