Visionary Cape Town-born director Phillida Le Roux-Liebenberg is a UCT Ballet School alumni and former Sun City show girl who has poured her heart into this lively production. Along with her husband, Vernon Liebenberg, Phillida brought Disco City to life as her first self-funded celebration of dance, music, and joy for all ages.

Tracey-Lee Oliver and Oscar T take the stage for live performances
At the heart of Disco City are two exceptional vocalists who will bring the era’s soulful sounds to life. First, there’s Tracey-Lee Oliver, the diva from Grabouw in Cape Town. With an impressive career spanning corporate shows and a feature on The Voice, Tracey-Lee currently graces the small screen on the soapie Diepe Waters. She’s also earned accolades for her role as Deena Jones in Dreamgirls, and her powerhouse voice will bring true disco glamour to the stage.
Joining her is Oscar T, a South African talent fresh off international stages. After years of entertaining on luxury cruise liners and performing in Macau, Oscar is now a staple on local corporate stages. His smooth vocals are sure to charm and get the crowd on their feet.

The Groove Keepers Moving Disco City
The choreography, crafted by Cape Town’s own Charlie Van Rooyen, promises to bring that infectious disco energy to life, filling the stage with spins, splits, and everything in between. Prepare to be wowed by a troop of 10 dancers, each one moving like they’ve been hit by a “funky jolt of nostalgia.”

Meet the Mayor of Disco, keeping the good vibes coming
Every city needs a mayor, and Disco Dave is the fearless leader of Disco City. By day, he’s known as Joubert Jonker, but at night, he transforms into the champion of the dancefloor. With a quirky afro that defies gravity, Disco Dave has the moves and the charisma to keep everyone moving.
