Häagen-Dazs at Sandton City is Offering Free Premium Ice Cream on International Women’s Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day 2024 on Friday 8 March, Häagen-Dazs will offer a free scoop giveaway of its ‘Founder’s Favourite’ Vanilla ice cream flavour in selected countries globally. This is the first time South Africa is joining in this global giveaway.

The free scoops will be available to the first 500 people who visit the Häagen-Dazs shop at Sandton City between 3pm and 5pm only.

The global giveaway forms part of The Rose Project, Häagen-Dazs’s global initiative that invited nominations from around the world to recognise unsung trailblazing women who ‘Don’t Hold Back.’ The brand recently revealed the five extraordinary winners of The Rose Project, Class of 2023, who have each received an equal share of a USD 100,000 (around R1,8 million) bursary grant to fund their mission and work.

One of the five winners is South African Sarah Kandolo, who co-founded the #TalkAboutHer project in which she drew strength from the rich legacy of authentic African female leaders and embarked upon a journey to encourage and celebrate leadership roles among African women.

Through her work, Sarah has empowered young people within their communities and captured the untold stories of female leaders in African countries. She plans to expand the initiative to highlight the critical role African women play in the long-term viability of communities.

Sarah joins the four other bursary winners, Jennifer Seifert and Karol Ivanna Aceves Flores of Mexico, Yarett Piñeiro of Puerto Rico and Eunice Maia of Portugal.

The Rose Project will continue for a second year to recognise the Class of 2024. Nominations are now open and can be submitted until 31 July 2024. Nominate yourself or another unsung woman who deserves recognition via haagen-dazs.global.
