A new ballet production is honouring 100 years of famed musical composer Giacomo Puccini with a special 1-day staging of Omaggio a Puccini. This commemorative production runs on 8 December 2024 and weaves together a triple bill of Puccini’s famous works including Tosca, La Bohème and Madama Butterfly.

This ballet in Joburg pays tribute to Puccini’s genius on the 100th anniversary of his passing. The production features highlights from three of his most beloved operas: Tosca, La Bohème, and Madama Butterfly. Through these excerpts, choreographer Mario Gaglione celebrates his enduring impact and legacy as one of the greatest composers in history.
