Kolonaki Greek Kouzina Opens a Stylish Second Branch in Bryanston

Kolonaki Greek Kouzina is continuing its conquest to bring the finest Mediterranean and Greek cuisine to the stylish corners of Joburg. The new venue in Bryanston opened strong in May 2025, a modern counterpart to the original Parkhurst space, which is set in a beautiful heritage home.

“Opening in Bryanston has been on our radar for some time..it’s a natural evolution for the brand,” explains Vassilios. “We saw an opportunity to bring Kolonaki’s energy and elegance to a new part of the city, while offering something a little more elevated. The motivation was really twofold: there was demand, and we were ready to grow.”

What’s on the menu at Kolonaki Greek Kouzina

When it comes to the food, Kolonaki Greek Kouzina took to tweaking classic dishes without losing the hallmarks of comfort and generosity. Here, flavours are clean and refined, with dishes designed for sharing – in the Greek tradition. The slow-cooked lamb shoulder and inventive small plates are among the hits on the menu.

Chef Vassilios maintains the menu for the new menu will evolve to an extent: “The DNA remains the same.. fresh, flavourful Mediterranean dishes rooted in Greek tradition, but with finesse. That said, we’ve taken the opportunity to evolve the menu. There are a few exclusives here, dishes we’ve developed specially for this kitchen, and a beautiful cocktail bar that brings a whole new dimension to the experience.”

The atmosphere

The size and scale of this Bryanston restaurant befits its lofty name, and pays gentle, modern homage to Greek history and heritage. Split into two distinct zones – a main dining space that can seat 180 guests, plus a spacious cocktail bar area.

Interiors take a contemporary turn with graceful Grecian drapes, textile accent ceilings, and shades of blush neutrals. “We wanted to transport our guests, to create something that feels like you’re sitting in a high-end, marble-clad restaurant perched somewhere above the Aegean Sea,” says Vassilios. “It’s elegant, immersive, and unmistakably Grecian, with design elements that balance contemporary luxury with timeless Mediterranean soul.”

Kolonaki Greek Kouzina sits in a class of its own. The restaurant continues to enjoy a stream of regular diners. The team believes that the recipe to success is a combination of soul and precision. “From day one, we’ve focused on hospitality that feels warm and personal, paired with dishes that are honest, generous, and full of flavour, remarked Vassilios. “People feel at home at Kolonaki, but also like they’re getting something special. That balance is rare, and I think it’s what keeps people coming back.”
