Le Petit Playhouse is Open for Play at Mall of Africa This School Holiday

Mall of Africa is bringing play with a purpose this winter school holiday with Playtime at Le Petit Playhouse, a hands-on, imagination-fuelled experience for children aged 2 to 7. From 9 to 21 July 2025, the Nando’s Court will transform into a vibrant role-play village and theatre, brought to life through a partnership with Le Petit Playhouse. Here’s what you need to know.

Purposeful play at Mall of Africa

This immersive playhouse activation is thoughtfully designed to inspire creativity amongst young children and support cognitive development through purposeful, interactive play. The activation combines education and entertainment in a way that supports modern parenting needs while allowing children to enjoy meaningful play.

The children enter a world of make-believe, learning through fun and games. They’ll have their choice of a variety of themed zones including a Fire Station, Police Station, Vet, Beauty Salon, Medical Centre, Café and Market with various curated props and dress-up attire to satisfy their natural curiosity.

The experience has been created to reflect the simple wonder of childhood imagination in a setting that allows children to express themselves and interact with their age-mates.

Winter holiday highlights at Le Petit Playhouse

Each child will enjoy two hours of full access to the activation as well as extra holiday fun features including:

A Krispy Kreme Holiday DIY Kit
A special Build-a-Bear workshop where the kids can create their own customised bear
Guided imaginative play with friendly playmakers
Interactive fun with beloved playhouse puppets, Maple and Mosely
Colouring-in and playdough stations
Puppet shows during each play session

While friendly playmakers will be present throughout, all children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Parents can feel free to grab a coffee from Krispy Kreme whilst the kids have their fun.

How to book

When: Running from 9 to 21 July 2025. Play sessions run daily from 9am to 11am, 12pm to 2pm, 3pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm. The puppet shows begin at the end of the first hour of each session
