Calling all craft lovers and hobbyists, Hobby-X is back in Johannesburg this May. South Africa’s premier craft and hobby exhibition return this May with an exciting new lineup of demonstrations, workshops, competitions, and other experiences for craft enthusiasts. We’ve made a list of their best workshops to try here.
EXCITING CRAFT ACTIVITIES FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
The show is family-friendly and takes place from 4 to 7 May at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. See here for their full lineup of workshops and classes.
One of the new features this year is a dedicated Crafters Area where visitors can get creative and expand their skills and take up a new hobby. Ticketholders also have access to the communal workshop area where exhibitors showcase interactive workshops and demonstrations to introduce their products and crafting techniques.

‘We’re thrilled to bring back Hobby-X this year with so many new features, including the Crafters Area, the competitions, and workshops,” says Marlene Bosch, the show director. ‘Our visitors will have an incredible experience filled with endless creativity, inspiration, and entertainment.’
Kids and the young at heart will love the Book Corner, Model trains and planes stall, and Freestyle Art Jamming area. There is also a Tea Garden and Food Court space to refuel between breaks.
