The Pick n Pay Wine and Food Festival is back in Johannesburg on 4 and 5 October 2025 for two days of award-winning wine tasting and delicious cuisine. This highly anticipated food and drink event takes place at The Wanderers Cricket Club in Illovo.
Savour the finest selection of some of South Africa’s top wine varietals, from full-bodied reds to crisp and fruity whites and everything in between. This year, the festival brings a record 71 producers for tasting, with purchases available on-site or for same-day delivery via Pick n Pay asap! for same-day service, making it easy for guests to enjoy their favourite selections at home.
Included this year is the Designated Driver/Non-Drinking Guest Ticket, providing a way for non-drinkers to enjoy the festival atmosphere responsibly.
What’s on at the Pick n Pay Wine and Food Festival in Johannesburg?

1. Sample wines from 71 top estates
Discover a wide selection of wines from some of South Africa’s finest estates, including premium Cap Classiques, Champagne and Mimosas. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or a casual wine drinker, there’s something for every palate.

2. Festival vibes with a vibrant food market
The Pick n Pay Fresh Food Market is a festival staple, offering a wide variety of delicious culinary options. Guests can enjoy everything from freshly grilled burgers and crispy fish and chips to sushi, gourmet cheese and charcuterie boards.
The festival also features Pick n Pay’s Burger & Pizza Trucks, perfect for grabbing a bite while enjoying live performances throughout the day.

3. The best live entertainment and excitement
Throughout the weekend, there will be live entertainment to set the perfect vibe, with Stones & Bones and Majozi headlining on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
Plus, look out for fantastic activations, including six beauty brands, delectable cakes from Chateaux Gateau, a chance to meet the Bokke at the Bomb Squad Beer & Boerie stand, and more, as well as chances to win big with Pick n Pay Smart Shopper.

4. Try an exclusive Wine & Food Pairing in the Pick n Pay Tasting Room
The Tasting Room offers a unique, limited seating experience where you can enjoy curated wine and food pairings. Guided by a celebrity chef and the featured winemaker, this 30-minute masterclass is the perfect way to learn how to pair wines with mouth-watering canapés.
Cost: Tickets for the Tasting Room experience are R130 per person, per session. As this is an add-on ticket, you must also purchase a General Access ticket to access the event – book the tasting via Webtickets

5. Picnic hamper and Al fresco dining on the lawn
Guests looking to make the most of the festival’s outdoor setting can pre-order a picnic hamper packed with Pick n Pay’s finest cheeses, cured meats, fresh bread, and other gourmet treats. Enjoy your picnic on the spacious lawns of The Wanderers Cricket Club while sipping on your favourite wine selections.

6. NEW! The Pick n Pay Liquor Mixology Theatre
New at the festival this year is the Pick n Pay Liquor Mixology Theatre, hosted by Diageo Unlock a premium experience and master the art of cocktail making under expert guidance.
Limited to 40 guests per session, this upgrade includes a hands-on, 30-minute masterclass where you’ll create and enjoy two delicious cocktails. You may purchase this experience as an add-on when you purchase your Early or General Access ticket on Webtickets.

The festival opens at 12pm, with exclusive early access for Pick n Pay Wine Club members. General access begins at 1pm, and the event concludes at 6pm.
Tickets are available exclusively via Webtickets.
Cost: General Access tickets are R300 per person, which includes a day pass, wine glass, access to tastings, and live music.
