The wild awaits at the Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve. Go on a game drive, watch predators feed, explore a cave, have a braai, speed around a bike track, climb a jungle gym, go for a swim, share a pizza, enjoy sundowners, stay the night and so much more.
There is a wide variety of animals in their Wildlife Centre who are ambassadors of their species to the public, many of which either were rescued, rejected, hand-reared and/or are being rehabilitated.
The Reserve boasts more than 100 species of mammals, reptiles and birds. See four of the big five as well as African wild dogs, cheetah, tigers, zebras, roan antelope, sable antelope and many more.
The Reserve boasts one of a few successful Vulture Hide’s where they feed vultures and other scavengers. For the 4×4 enthusiast, there are a few 4×4 routes to test your skills as well as a secluded 4×4 braai area with only ablution facilities and braai areas. There is an African garden inter-leading from the Wildlife Centre with cycads and indigenous plant species.
The WonderCave is a pristine World Heritage Site in the midst of the Cradle of Humankind and boasts formations enough to take your breath away. The WonderCave has its own refreshments kiosk to be enjoyed with breathtaking views of the Cradle of Humankind.
The reserve has accommodation, an on-site restaurant, a play area for kids and the venue is available for events.
