Rosebank Mall is Launching a New Rooftop Gin Festival This December

Just in! Rosebank Mall is ringing out the year with the launch of a fabulous new Rooftop Gin Festival running on Saturday, 14 December 2024. This new event in Johannesburg ties together some of South Africa’s respected craft gin labels, live music performances by top artists, and gourmet food all set to sunset views on the rooftop space. Here’s what you can look forward to.

Taste and sip on proudly South African craft gin labels

Get up to speed with South Africa’s craft gin scene with more than 10 top gin producers at the event. The Rooftop Gin Festival lineup includes both familiar and underrated labels such as 25 Degrees South, Time Gin, and Alchemy Gin. Each distillery brings its signature flavour profile to the table, allowing gin lovers to broaden their palate in a relaxed setting.

This will be your chance to try tastings, chat with distillers about their gin-making process and botanicals, order G&Ts from their menu, and buy gins for take home.

Pair your gins with gourmet food

The Rooftop Gin Festival team carefully settled on a few gourmet food vendors to complement your gin tastings and elevate every sip. Joining the event is Engine 67, serving the finest burgers and tacos since 2016 from their vintage 1960s Bedford Green Goddess red food truck. Raw Ginger too is known for offering ‘the best street food in town’ thanks to their signature snacks and treats from Orange GG burgers to American-style waffle cones and everything in between.

Special live performances by Lady Zamar and Holly Rey

Get ready to groove to live gigs by celebrated South African artists Lady Zamar and Holly Rey, whose electrifying sets will keep the good vibes flowing from sunset to nightfall. On the cards are new music from Lady Zamar’s 2024 album, as well as the chance to watch her perform the near-classic hit Collide in person.

Hit the floor as Holly Rey serves up South African House beats with her breakout single Deeper which made waves in 2018, as well as newer tracks from the SAMA-award-winning artist.

Take in stunning panoramic views of Joburg from the rooftop space

The Rooftop Gin Festival will be hosted at Parking level 4 outdoor rooftop setting that lets enjoy amazing panoramic views of Johannesburg as the city skyline transforms with the hues of sunset. This will also be your last chance to catch the purple beauty of Jacaranda season in Rosebank from high above.
