The Jo’burg Coffee Festival: South Africa’s Largest Celebration of Coffee

Coffee aficionados, get ready to indulge in a caffeinated paradise at The Jo’burg Coffee Festival, the natural evolution of the event formerly known as the Specialty Coffee Expo. This coffee festival in Johannesburg is South Africa’s largest coffee-centric event that continues to elevate the coffee experience for enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.

The Coffee Festival keeps specialty coffee at its core while expanding the experience to better reflect Johannesburg’s energy, culture, and appetite for great things. Hosted at the Fourways Mall Rooftop from Friday to Sunday, 29 to 31 May 2026, the Jo’burg Coffee Festival is where specialty coffee meets lifestyle, without compromising on quality. Here’s what you can look forward to.

The Specialty Coffee Expo

The new and improved Jo’burg Coffee Festival

What sets the Jo’burg Coffee Festival apart is how that specialty foundation is now layered with a broader festival experience. Alongside top tier coffee, visitors can explore equipment and brew tools, Sample Bars, Live Demos, and Workshops presented by the African School of Coffees.

Plus, for the first time in Johannesburg, the festival also brings together a small craft beer and wine bar, diverse food offerings, and live music, transforming the event into a full-scale celebration that extends well beyond the cup.

The beloved Roasters Village returns

At the heart of the festival is the Roasters Village, which remains strictly specialty. This is where the best specialty coffee roasters in South Africa come together to showcase their craft, share their stories, and serve exceptional coffee to a curious, engaged audience.

Food, refreshments and tons more fun

In addition to everything else, guests can expect bakes, patisserie and food trucks alongside the brand-new craft beer and wine bars. With this fusion of classic and new, the Jo’burg Coffee Festival becomes a full sensory weekend rather than just a trade style show.
