The Art of Laughter is a night of stand-up comedy featuring the best South African comedians at the Goethe-Institut on Thursday, 24 April 2025. Here’s what you need to know about the show.

The Art of Laughter boasts a lineup of stars
Hosted by Mo Mothebe, The Art of Laughter show will include the comedic stylings of Netflix and Amazon star Robby Collins and the incomparable Queen of African Stand-up Comedy, Celeste Ntuli.
Host Tshireletso “Mo” Mothebe is a young comedian from Pretoria, and a refreshing voice in the local comedy scene. In September 2017, he debuted his one-man show “The Chocolate Chronicles,” which received critical acclaim and won an Ovation Award in 2019. With his own comedic success to show for, he makes the perfect host to showcase this lineup of legends.
Queen of comedy, Celeste Ntuli’s comedic talent has been recognised with a Flying Solo Award, a Comedy G Award at the Savanna Comic’s Choice Awards, and many more nominations over the years. An award-winning actress, a host, and a brand darling, she is an all-rounded multitalent who lights up every stage she steps foot on.
Based in eThekwini (Durban), Robby Collins is a star in the world of South African comedy, known for his dynamic stage presence, razor-sharp wit, and unflinching ability to turn everyday life into laugh-out-loud moments. Robby has become one of the most influential voices of the new generation of comedians in South Africa, making him just the right pick to round out this incredible lineup.
