The World Cup isn’t the only football action taking place this winter as Mall of Africa introduces The Goal Zone, a football-themed school holiday experience perfect for the family. From 3 to 13 July 2026, expect an action-packed indoor football experience designed to keep children moving and entertained.
Get into the soccer spirit over the school break
The Goal Zone is an interactive soccer-themed activity zone where children, teens and even competitive parents can put their skills to the test across seven exciting challenges, being designed to entertain a wide range of ages with selected challenges designed for the whole family.
Activities include a mix of football skills, speed, coordination and playful rivalry, giving young fans the chance to celebrate the game and soak up the excitement around the World Cup. Some of the activities at The Goal Zone include:
- Speed Kick – a test of power
- Beat the Keeper – where participants practice their aim
- Reflex Wall – to practice players’ reaction time
- Through the Hoops – a test of accuracy
- Footgolf – offering something different
- Keepie Uppies – where participants see how long they can keep the ball in the air
As an added treat, the first 100 participants through The Goal Zone get the opportunity to customise a Krispy Kreme Original glazed doughnut.
Stand to win cool prizes
Visitors to the mall also stand a chance to win incredible prizes, including one of five official Bafana Bafana jerseys, five R1000 Studio 88 vouchers and spot prizes from EL&N, Honor, Lego, McDonalds, New Balance, Spur, Totalsports and Toy Kingdom.
