Roger Ballen will take attendees through an hour-and-a-half guided tour of his inaugural ‘End of the Game’ exhibition. The exhibition presents the origins of the African safari and Ballen’s response to the relationship between human and animal. Part historical archive and part artistic installation, this body of work confronts us with universal questions about the meaning of the destruction of nature, its association with power, and our relationship to the natural world.  Tickets are limited to max 24 people a session, so book early to avoid disappointment.

The Antique Fair at Nelson Mandela Square

The Unlikely Secret Agent

Catch ‘The Unlikely Secret Agent’ for its last weekend at The Market Theatre

‘The Unlikely Secret Agent’ is a show directed by the acclaimed Paul du Toit and is regarded as a powerful testament to the human spirit’s resilience. Based on Ronnie Kasrils’ Alan Paton Award-winning book, the production follows the incredible journey of Eleanor Kasrils, an unassuming bookstore worker and single mother in 1960s Durban who becomes a clandestine operative for the ANC.

The show not only sheds light on apartheid’s horrors and police brutality but also shines a light on the unwavering spirit of those who fought for freedom and on gender-based violence. Having opened to audiences in mid-May, this weekend marks the last of its showings at the Market Theatre.
