The visually stunning Zioux restaurant in Sandton recently reopened after a brief pause to unveil an exciting new culinary chapter. Chef David Higgs and his team are introducing Joburg diners to a fusion of delicate Asian-inspired cuisine under the guidance of a famed Japanese master chef. Here’s all you need to know.

What to expect at the new Zioux
The dynamic menu transformation brings a fresh selection of sushi, crispy tempuras, dim sum packed with flavour, and main courses from the wood-fired grill. For those after lighter fare, choose from a shortlist of elevated salads, poke bowls, and an enticing selection of Asian snacks.
The force behind Zioux restaurant’s culinary revamp is Chef Katsuhiko Miyamoto, a maestro from Matsusaka, Japan. Chef Katsuhiko comes with a clear understanding of South African palates and an unwavering passion for Asian cuisine
Working alongside Chef David to craft the menu, the Japanese maestro infuses each dish with his expertise and has grown into a culinary patriarch to the team at Zioux.
The menu transformation extends to the restaurant’s décor, which courted many diners with its opulent African Art Nouveau and artistic tones. Newly added artworks complement the stylish furniture, and there’s an expanded outdoor deck for sundowners and nightcaps.
