Jazz legend Kirk Whalum live a Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden

Get ready to be enchanted by the smooth, soulful sounds of jazz legend Kirk Whalum. He will take centre stage at the next Old Mutual Music in the Gardens concert on Sunday, 18 May 2025, at the stunning Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden.

Set against dramatic cliffs and a cascading waterfall, this event offers an unforgettable afternoon filled with music, nature and community.

Old Mutual is proud to present the fourth concert in this much-loved series. The final Johannesburg show, with the extraordinary Kirk Whalum, promises something truly special. With his iconic blend of jazz, gospel and R&B, Whalum has inspired audiences for nearly forty years. This will be a moving performance, filled with soul, spirit and timeless sound.

Cost: General Admission Adult (18+ yrs old), from R195pp (excl. R25 fee). General Admission Children (5 to 17 yrs old), from R95pp (excl. R25 fee). Children under 5 enter free. Book via Webtickets

Need to know before you go

Tickets are non-refundable. Old Mutual Music in the Gardens opens at noon, the concert starts at 1pm and ends 6pm.

Guests are welcome to take their own picnic baskets along, but bringing your own food, drinks and hard cooler boxes is prohibited. Not to worry though, because there are plenty of food and drink vendors at the event to help cater your afternoon picnic. You may also bring picnic blankets, small beach-style umbrellas, and camping chairs, however no gazebos.
