The French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) is hosting the exciting 14th edition of Fête de la Musique Joburg at Victoria Yards on Saturday, 19 June. This cultural and music event is free to join. You can look forward to an electrifying array of talent spanning established icons and emerging artists. Here’s what you need to know.

Open call for music artists, poets and DJs to join Fête de la Musique Joburg
IFAS is extending an invitation to musicians, bands, DJs, and poets in Johannesburg to apply for the opportunity to perform at the Fête de la Musique music festival. The festival will provide a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their talent, connect with wider audiences, and be part of an international celebration of music and creativity.
Application must be submitted from 13 March to 16 April 2025, or until 300 applications are received. Complete the online application form, and submit a WeTransfer file with the required materials (bio, photos, press kit, sound clips, and videos) to [email protected].
Due to the high volume of applications, no auditions will be held for Fête de la Musique Joburg. A panel of industry professionals will review submissions and select artists based on originality, musical quality, and stage presence.
Interested creatives must be available to perform live in Johannesburg on 21 June 2025, and should be able to deliver a 45-minute set with strong audience engagement.
Compulsory professional workshops in Johannesburg on 19 and 20 June 2025. The performance fees are R5,500 for music bands, R3,000 for DJs, and R1,000 for poets.
