What to Expect on the Tour

Each farm tour lasts between one and three hours, depending on group size and engagement, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions along the way. Guests are guided through the fundamentals of cheese making, exploring both the science and craft behind the process, alongside a brief history of cheese and its cultural significance.

A highlight of the experience is a visit to the cheese cave, where participants gain insight into how time, temperature and care shape flavour and texture. Throughout the tour, the emphasis remains on transparency, sustainability and respect for both the land and the animals.

Each tour concludes with a guided tasting of five cheeses and two jams, selected based on availability. For those looking to elevate the experience, an alcoholic pairing option can be arranged in advance.

Ethical farming sits at the heart of Inyamazane Farm

At the core of Inyamazane Farm Tours is a deep commitment to ethical farming practices. Mothers and their calves are kept together for as long as possible, and the cows are fed with care and attention — no routine antibiotics, no hormones, just love (and the occasional carrot).

As the team at Inyamazane likes to say, “We are all about the cows. Love goes in, and love comes out.” This philosophy carries through into every cheese produced on the farm.

Why Jersey Milk Makes the Difference

Inyamazane Farm’s cheeses are made exclusively from Jersey cow milk, chosen for both flavour and nutrition. Jersey milk contains higher levels of protein and calcium than many other breeds, along with naturally higher butterfat — around 20% more, to be exact. Butterfat equals flavour, and it’s this richness that gives Inyamazane’s milk, butter and cheeses their signature creamy texture and depth of taste.
