The Leading Vibe Initiative is a platform founded by GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Tems to support, connect and amplify the next generation of women in Africa shaping the future of music. After editions in Lagos, Nigeria and Nairobi, Kenya, the movement continues in Johannesburg on Saturday, 21 March 2026, marking the first activation of the initiative in South Africa. Here’s what you need to know.

What is the Leading Vibe Initiative all about?
Born from Tems’ journey as a self-taught artist, the initiative offers women with the tools, resources and connections to propel their creative journeys. With a mission to close the gender gap in the music industry, the Leading Vibe Initiative builds pathways for women to rise.
The initiative’s debut in Johannesburg expands a growing community of women shaping the future of music across the continent. Attendees can expect workshops, masterclasses, panel discussions, hands-on training, access to world-class tools, and connections to established industry executives and leaders.
