Getting to know Iman Bulbulia

Iman Bulbulia is an award-winning South African pianist who has earned recognition both locally and internationally from a remarkably young age. She began piano tuition at the age of 4, and at just 8 years old became the youngest musician ever to perform as a soloist with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Her international achievements include first prize and the Exceptional Young Talent Special Prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso Music Competition in Salzburg, second prize at the American Protégé International Piano and Strings Competition in New York, and an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall through the Golden Classical Music Awards International Competition, where she received a Certificate of Excellence.

Having recently returned to South Africa after completing her Master’s in Finance in London, Iman brings together artistic excellence, international experience and a renewed passion for performance.

As she continues to perform across South Africa, her focus is on contributing to the country’s evolving music landscape, creating memorable live experiences, and helping expand the space for classical, contemporary, and cross-genre piano performance.
