More about The Soil

The Soil is a dynamic South African acapella group from Soweto who are currently enjoying a steady following thanks to their contemporary brand of soulful, gospel-inspired hits. The group launched in 2004 and today consists of lead composer Ntsika Fana Ngxanga, dynamic beatboxer Luphindo Ngxanga and a new, exciting and incredibly gifted singer/songwriter Theo ‘Songstress’ Matshoba.

The Soil considers themselves as more than just a group, they are a spiritual institution that channels songs that heal and always refers to God as the first member of their immaculate ensemble.

The duo took a 7-year-long break to focus on their individual, spiritually filled journeys that have been lauded by many as the reason why this brand new album The Soil: Reimagined is so beautifully crafted and breathtakingly unique. You can look forward to tracks featuring South African contemporary Isicathamiya a cappella group Thee Legacy, umGungundlovu born jazz musician Dr Nduduzo Makhathini, a Motswana-South African brilliant pianist Bokani Dyer and global musician and genius guitarist Joel Klein.
