If your dad’s a fan of good food and drink, treat him to a lavish Father’s Day lunch spread at The Mural Bar in Kempton Park. The team is taking a departure from the traditional seven colours for a more modern take that dares to be different.

The buffet set menu features multiple courses, build-your-own salads, and wholesome vegetable sides made with seasonal ingredients by Executive Chef Johan van Rooyen. All guests are greeted with a well-deserved glass of bubbles and live music will be performed throughout the afternoon.

Pop in at the Jägermeister Meister Market Winter Pop-up

This weekend marks the last days of the Jägermeister Meister Market Pop-up, inviting clothing and music lovers to the unveiling of fresh new fashion collaborations whilst talented DJs light up the decks. This Friday’s event is titled ‘Friends of Jägermeister’, and features appearances from Mbali Vibes, Goodguy Styles, Shady (Piano Guy), Tshegu, 031 Choppa, DJ Kaymo, Jimm & Tonic and Mashbeatz Wordz. The Saturday following is the event’s closing party with music from Djy Biza, DJ Sandiso, Sfarzo Rtee, Maglera Doe Boy, DJ Venom, Ggoldie and Am’Yoli.

Girls on Bikes

Take a winter bike ride through the city with Girls on Bikes

Girls on Bikes is a Banditz Bicycle Club initiative aimed at creating safer spaces for girls to cycle through bicycle lessons and social rides. Join them for an early morning bike ride this Saturday, starting at the Cycle Boutique at 44 Stanley. Participants should not forget to eat something before the ride to give them the necessary fuel they would need, and bring along a small snack, some water, sunscreen and a hat.

Enjoy a special art tour from the Constitutional Court Art Collection

The Constitutional Court Trust, a custodian of the Constitutional Court Art Collection (CCAC), hosts a special tour for the official unveiling of the winning artworks of the inaugural CCAC Student Competition 2023. The CCAC Student Competition was a pilot programme for printmaking and photography students. This art tour event grants the previous winning artists the platform to present their work, whilst the announcement of the 2024 edition winners takes place.

Along with the 2023 winners, Bheki Anderson Sibiya, Kamogelo Violet Sebopa, Obakeng Masilo, and Rametse Gilbert Maepa getting to showcase their art, the tour also includes artworks from the new public gallery exhibition installed in April. Attendees are advised to RSVP via email in order to attend.

Experience a day of music and creative expression at the NarowBi Party Market

NarowBi is a regular event that brings together stalls and artists for a full day of music, art, style, love, inspiration and more. This weekend, they transform Arts on Main into a dynamic party and market experience for another instalment of their popular events.  The party segment includes grooving to the rhythms of talented DJs and live performers and the market offers a curated selection of stalls showcasing local artisans, designers, and makers showing off unique handmade treasures.

Food stalls are also on site and drinks are available for purchase throughout the evening. Guests this weekend can expect performances from talented local artists including Joda Kgosi and Cindii Masina, and DJ sets from JustTravisCPT, Unosii, MHMMD and more.

Light up the evening at the Glow Neon Run

Glow Neon Run is a family and community fundraising event that transforms from day to night. It offers a food market, entertainment and family fun, culminating in a glow-in-the-dark 5km night run. Each ticket purchase includes a GLOW T-shirt and glowsticks, as well as a GLOW drawstring bag. Neon gear, toys and equipment, as well as food and refreshments are available onsite.

Note that tickets for the market only are also available separately. These general ticketholders are not allowed to participate in the race, nor can they receive any merchandise, but are granted all-day access to the market and entertainment.

Through the boy’s sense of abandonment and his outlook on the world, the audience is challenged to acknowledge their own ‘brokenness’.
