Black Horse Brewery and Distillery based in Black Horse Estate has been at the forefront of craft brewing and distilling in Magaliesburg. With an artisanal craft brewery and distillery offering visitors a unique experience.
The property is located just an hour’s scenic drive outside Johannesburg, situated on the edge of the Magalies River amidst lush green fields and majestic black horses. Guests can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Zeekoeihoek Valley while sitting under the magnificent Pecan nut trees.
Visitors can join in on a tour of Black Horse Distillery & Brewery. They can experience the distillation and brew process with all five senses and receive an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at how the spirits and beer are made. The distillery offers tours for groups of up to 20 people, on select days. The tour price includes a branded glass and a beer or gin tasting of choice. The tour is a 45-minute production line tour, culminating in the tasting room with a tasting flight of available spirits or a beer tasting. Bookings are made online only.
The estate does not just house a brewery and distillery, it features charming restaurants, Stables Café and Black Horse Restaurant. Black Horse Restaurant is an urban alehouse menu utilizing only the freshest local ingredients prepared simply. The cuisine features elevated home-style comfort food that pairs perfectly with microbrewery craft beers and seasonal cocktails. Stables Café offers an elegant dining experience.
Black Horse Estate offers also the perfect setting to celebrate a wedding as it offers breathtaking views of the Zeekoeihoek Valley featuring French provincial architecture, terrace gardens and green meadows with black horses. There is also accommodation available for booking.
