The Frog Prince and Other Fantastic Stories is a magical limited-season theatre production running from 2 to 21 September 2025 at Joburg Theatre. Kids of all ages and families will be swept into a world of wonder as the much-loved tale of The Frog Prince is reimagined by People’s Theatre.
In this heart-warming adaptation, a spoilt princess learns valuable lessons about kindness, empathy and true beauty when she befriends a mysterious frog — later revealed to be a prince under a wicked witch’s spell. Here’s what you need to know.

Step into a world of magic and imagination with People’s Theatre’s enchanting new production of The Frog Prince. In this timeless fairy tale, a spoiled princess makes a promise to a mysterious frog, only to discover he is a handsome prince trapped under a wicked witch’s spell.
Through their unlikely friendship, she learns valuable lessons about kindness, empathy and the true meaning of beauty — reminding us all to look beyond appearances and treat others with respect.
Audiences will also delight in other much-loved tales, including Billy Goats Gruff, Hansel and Gretel, and The Turkish Sultan. True interactive theatre, this production invites children to join in the action on stage. You can look forward to captivating music, vibrant costumes and a magical set.
