Gauteng is once again hosting some egg-celent Easter egg hunts that are sure to entertain the entire family because, after all, what is Easter without an Easter egg hunt? While the kids go around hunting for chocolatey treats, there’s also some fun for the rest of the family, from a family festival experience to the chance to wander through a scenic berry farm, courtesy of some of the exciting Easter celebration events taking place this 2026.

The Field Berry Farm’s scenic Easter egg hunt
Join Field Berry Farm over the Easter weekend for bucketloads of Easter Fun.
Kids will have a blast searching for coloured stones hidden among the raspberry bushes. Once they have found the 3 different-coloured stones, these will be exchanged for 3 different chocolate eggs: a marshmallow egg, a white candy-coated chocolate egg and a hollow milk chocolate egg.
In addition to the Easter Egg Hunt, you’ll have the opportunity to pick your own fresh raspberries and join a guided Easter Story walk, which will take you through the different stages of the Easter Story.

Prison Break Market’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Easter Friday just got a whole lot more egg-citing. Bring the little ones to Prison Break Market for their Annual Easter Egg Hunt where excitement, chocolate and pure joy are guaranteed.
This year, they’re running two separate age groups to keep it fair, but once the whistle blows, they’ll be gone in a flash. Beat the crowd and get here early to secure a spot at the starting line.

JoyJozi Holiday Festival Brings Easter Magic to Sandton

The much-loved Dlala Nje Easter Egg Hunt is back at Ponte Tower, bringing joy and excitement to the heart of Joburg. On 4 April, children are invited to explore the iconic landmark, searching for hidden eggs and enjoy a day filled with laughter and community spirit.
This Easter egg hunt in Joburg offers more than just fun, it’s also an opportunity to give back. Visitors are encouraged to donate Easter eggs or contribute R50 to support the Dlala Nje Kids Programme. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season while making a difference.

The Easter Bunny returns for Poplar Park’s annual Easter egg hunt
The Easter Bunny pays a visit to Poplar Park once again in 2026. This Easter egg hunt event is a fundraiser which supports the park and relies on donations, so guests are welcome to donate a box of marshmallow eggs, money or anything else for the celebration and drop them at the Beethoven Coffee Shop at the poplar park centre.
There is loads to do beyond hunting down sweet treats, including jumping castles, pottery painting and lots of other treats. So, bring a basket or bag to collect some yummy eggs and join in for a fun family afternoon out.
Nice Restaurant and Beethoven Coffee also have a pizza, ice-cream, biscuit and cool drink take away station. Note that no refunds will be given in event of cancellation.

The Egoli Easter Family Festival is one not to miss, offering a carnival, water fun, petting zoo and, of course, an Easter egg hunt experience for the kids to enjoy over the Easter weekend.
