Adult Skating for Beginners With the Golden City Rollers’ FREE Open Day

If you’re looking to try something a little different, Golden City Rollers is running a beginner’s intake in Turffontein. This fun, high-intensity social sport is a unique experience and a popular take on the traditional version of roller skating.

Roller Derby at Golden City Rollers is a great social event that offers an inclusive and welcoming community of all gender identity, race, sexual orientation, fitness level, and body shape. The training programme is designed to teach you everything you need to know to level up as a skater.

The schedule for the day includes a hands-on tutorial on how to skate and a roadmap on how you’ll progress as a skater, and fees, and practice times if you’re keen on improving your skills. From 1pm, visitors get to watch a roller derby game played by experienced skaters.

The club has a fair amount of skates and gear available to use during the intake. Just take a bottle of water, and wear comfortable clothes you can skate in. Golden City Rollers is Africa’s first and finest roller derby league.
