Hobby X 2024 is the place to be from 2 to 5 May if you’re looking for interactive, hands-on crafting and DIY workshops to create new and unique items. This year’s edition appeals to all genders, especially seeing as it now boasts a special new ‘Man Cave’ section. Kids of all ages will also be more than satisfied, with many fun guided activities on offer. Under the theme ‘Retro Rewind’, Hobby X 2024 combines vintage elements with exciting new twists.

Epoxy UV Pendant Making Workshop with Arno Designz
Create an epoxy UV Pendant in this interesting, beginner-friendly workshop. Arno Designz specialises in creating handmade, one-of-a-kind functional art using unique woodworking products and resin. They believe that artistry isn’t just the execution and production of a new piece; it’s also making sure that each piece will look beautiful wherever it will be displayed. Each attendee will receive a kit including 1 x 40cm Necklace, 1 x keychain, 1 x mini pendant mould, a pair of Nitrile gloves and 1 x 50g UV Resin.

Gin Making Masterclass with GinPassportSA
Join a gin masterclass to explore the origins of gin, the various types of gin and the different flavour profiles from around the world. Learn how to infuse a unique combination of flavours, and take home a specially curated bag of locally sourced botanicals. Guests will receive a cocktail on arrival, a tasting mat. and five different gins to sample while the Gin Master takes them on a journey. Palate cleansers and a mixer will be provided. Marble Jar Scented Candle Workshop with JuneJulyCo
Learn how to create a marbled, scented candle in this workshop that’s suitable for all levels of crafters and possibly a hit with the guys wanting to make something nice for their homes. JuneJulyco makes luxury, highly-scented wax melts and stunning burners. They use coco-soy wax for all melts, and paraffin wax for pillar candles, all hand-poured.
