Have you seen Zandile?

Have You Seen Zandile? returns on stage at Soweto Theatre, reimagined for a new generation. First performed in 1986, this powerful story explores tradition, freedom, and identity. Zandile’s world is turned upside down when she’s taken from her loving grandmother in Durban to rural Transkei. The Fall

The Fall is an award-winning protest play that tells the story of student activists from the #RhodesMustFall and #FeesMustFall movements. It returns to the Market Theatre stage in a bold new production, presented by The Theatre Duo.

When the statue of Cecil John Rhodes was removed at the University of Cape Town, eight students wrote this powerful piece. It explores how race, class, gender, colonialism, and patriarchy shape inequality in South Africa. Originally produced by The Baxter Theatre Centre, this reimagined version features three of the original creators and new cast members. The Fall has travelled the world—South Africa, the UK, Europe, and the US. It was named a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Now, it’s back to challenge, question, and move audiences all over again.

The Vamps – Drag with a Difference

Swan Lake National Tour

The production of Swan Lake that the two companies will dance was originally staged in Cape Town by French dancer Attilio Labis in 1971. Acclaimed SA choreographer Veronica Paeper will be responsible for restaging the ballet for the national tour.

The national tour opens at the Joburg Theatre from Friday, 4 July, until Sunday 13 July. Fine music lovers are in for a treat as The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s iconic Swan Lake score for the Johannesburg season.
