Sandton City launches phase two of their joint Words That Heal campaign with the Riky Rick Foundation. The Joburg Contemporary Art Foundation (JCAF): Structures
Structures at JCAF is open for a its final few showings this November in Joburg. The exhibition explores how people and places are bound together through histories of race, colonialism, migration, and modernism. The exhibition unfolds across three interconnected sections—situatedness, infrastructures and typologies—each revealing how memory, power, and ritual are inscribed in the spaces we inhabit.
A highlight is the immersive South African Pavilion from the 2024 Venice Biennale (commissioned by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture). Created by a women-led architectural collective, the interactive installation envisions a city made of couscous. Other notable works include delicate photographs capturing Tunisian light and a reconstructed Brazilian installation from the 1970s designed to be walked on, over, and through.
Artists featured include Kamyar Bineshtarigh, Hajra Waheed, Jellel Gasteli, Kader Attia, David Goldblatt, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Matri-Archi(tecture), Hélio Oiticica, Igshaan Adams, and MADEYOULOOK. Through these works, Structures invites reflection on how built environments shape cultural memory and open new possibilities for connection.

Wits Art Museum is currently showing Rainbow Nation Comics’ YOUNG NELSON: Renewal/ Rejuvenation exhibition.
The exhibition features digital prints, comic books, an animation trailer and original music. YOUNG NELSON: Renewal/ Rejuvenation provides an opportunity for audiences to visually witness the creation of comic books from sketches and storyboards to the digitizing process.
Central to the exhibition is ‘The Young Nelson, New Beginnings, New Stories, New Heroes Anthology’ comic book project. The project captures tales of new and young love. It features new friendships and villains with each character serving as a new and modern interpretation of the spirit of Ubuntu and how it can be best practiced in contemporary South Africa.
The exhibition offers an opportunity to engage with historical material and iconic images of Nelson Mandela from the archives of world-renowned South African photographers: Eli Weinberg, Jurgen Schadeberg and Paul Weinberg.

Crafters Fair Christmas Market
The annual Crafters Fair Christmas Market brings more than 250 exhibitors together to display and sell their quality handmade Arts and Crafts.
Held at the Moreleta Church in Pretoria East with exhibitors from as far as Cape Town, Kwa-Zulu Natal and Free State, the fair makes shopping for gifts, crafts, and all the weird and the wonderful, that much easier.
