Every artist on this bill carries a piece of Masekela’s fire. Starting with Vusi Mahlasela, the folk icon also known as “The Voice,” Vusi lends his stirring vocals and storytelling spirit, embodying the same unwavering commitment to justice that defined Masekela’s career.
Next on the lineup is Judith Sephuma, South Africa’s Queen of Afro-Jazz, whose long-standing collaborative history with Bra Hugh brings a sophisticated power to the stage that only a true peer can provide. The return of South African Fashion Week!
South African Fashion Week (SAFW) remains the country’s only dedicated platform for designers, continuing to drive visibility and growth within the local industry. Following a strategic pause, SAFW returned with strong digital campaigns and now has an in-person showcase at various venues.
The 2026 programme opens on 22 April at Cirk, with Gert-Johan Coetzee’s theatrical Behind The Crimson Door. Shows continue at VRTUOSUS studio in Hyde Park, featuring designers such as Helon Melon, Black Coffee, Naked Ape, Zamaswazi and Fundudzi.
Blending established names with emerging talent, SAFW continues to shape South Africa’s fashion landscape while supporting innovation, job creation and cultural expression.

NOW IS NOT FOREVER by Theresa-Anne Mackintosh
NOW IS NOT FOREVER marks the first comprehensive institutional survey of Mackintosh’s practice. The exhibition, showing at the Wits Art Museum, brings together sculpture, painting, and archival material spanning more than three decades, focusing on her exploration of the human figure and psychological states through form. Central works include the iconic Tina figures, fibreglass effigies, ceramic baby sculptures, and new bronze and steel sculptures.
The exhibition is opening on Thursday, 9 April 2026 at 6pm for 6.30pm, and the first walkabout is on Saturday, 11 April 2026 at 12pm and will be led by the artist. The walkabout provides insight into Mackintosh’s artistic process, the conceptual development of her fictional bodies, and the dialogue between painting and sculpture in her practice.

Tshwane North Ultra
Tshwane North Ultra (TNU) is an official 50km road running event incorporating a half-marathon, 10km and 5km fun run on the streets of North of Pretoria on the vicinity of the Magalies Mountains.
It passes through the beautiful landmarks of Pretoria North and West as it creates a circular map of the northern and southern Magaliesberg mountain range via Hornsnek road starting at Akasia Community Hall and going down to the bottom of Wonderboom and coming back to the finish via Berg Avenue.
